Day 12 Devil’s Marbles

Alice Springs is feeling a little cold in the morning so with apologies to Jimmy Buffet, “I wanna’ go where it’s warm!’ It’s a relatively short drive of around 400 km so we make a late start. Just to the east of Alice is a Gap in the range called ‘Emily Gap’. Of course we had to stop for a look and a photo. Kids’ school and a movie took up most of the time on the drive and we were soon at the day's stopping point. The Devil’s Marbles is a naturally occurring rock formation that is, apparently, not deemed phallic enough to warrant classification as a sacred site. So, much climbing and photographing ensued. Camp was in a rest area by the side of the road and we didn’t linger in the morning as we set off for the famous pub in Daly Waters.
